Mari Bastashevski contacted me to help out with an artwork she wanted to produce for the New Shapes forum in Stockholm. Her email contained the word 'chthulucene' so I was immediately interested. That and the fact it would allow me another chance for me to experiment with and refine the process of visually representing audio data as geometry. The idea was to visualise
three audio recordings which reflected the the concepts illustrated in Donna Haraway's cthulucene manifesto. They were a recording of an opera song about the ocean (human), a humpback whale song (nature) and a container ship hitting the wave (machine). Click here for full res.
