I worked with Plymouth College of Art as an artist in residence to create a piece for the launch of the immersive dome at Plymouth’s new Market Hall facitily.
I worked with two students on an Unreal Engine driven piece plus the audio reactive piece created in Houdini and documented here.
The audio was created by Alex Eckford. It was supplied as lots of individual snippets of music and then randomised in Houdini. The audio drove the particle simulation but also outputted as a spatial 5.1 audio mix. The spatialisation system is actually generalisable to the dome’s full 19.1 immersive audio set-up.
