Black Mirror 'USS Callister'

Painting Practice. This time it was for the Star Trek parody episode ‘USS Callister’.

Working with Erica McEwan, Joel Collins and Phil Sims I produced a range of screen motion graphics from simulated UI’s and game engines to branding.

I talked to Pushing Pixels about the process if you’re interested in reading a bit further.

One part of the brief was to design the desktop environments and apps which appeared in the VR companies offices. These were to be AR/VR interfacing software environments. For this I created a modified interface within Cinema 4D then screen recorded myself working in it before compositing further graphics and GUI elements within it.

I created general desktop environments and interfaces, including a DNA compiler. I also created a lot of detailed screen content for the futuristic USS Callister at the end of the show.
